With his background as a practicing diagnostic radiologist and experience with deployment and design of radiology systems, Dr. Jones has valuable insight into radiology workflow and informatics. He has been instrumental in conceptualizing and designing critical components of the mPlexus solutions.
As with all physicians, his educational background is extensive, including earning a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984, and an M.D. from Tulane University in 1989. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego in 1996, and a fellowship at Indiana University in 2008.
Dr. Jones also has experience as a doctor in the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to Battalion 1/9 (The Walking Dead) in Camp Pendleton and deployed as part of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He later returned to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Peleliu. After residency training, he was stationed abroad with his family in Okinawa, Japan.
In 2000, He co-founded InnerVision Advanced Medical Imaging, a full-service imaging center in Lafayette, Indiana. He also co-founded Nufinity, LLC, and later helped to create mPlexus. Dr Jones continues to perform part-time radiology services at multiple medical facilities, which allows him a unique perspective on the current challenges in radiology from medical, business, and technical perspectives.
Mr. Badertscher is the CEO of mPlexus, the experts in DICOM Medical Imaging Software, and has had more than 25 years of experience in providing financial, business and practice management services to hospitals, surgery centers, ancillary healthcare providers, physician groups, and individual physicians.
He has held many senior-level management and board positions within the industry including serving as the CEO of Sarasota Orthopedic Associates, SVP of Signet Diagnostic/Diagnostic Imaging Group, the largest privately held and the 4th largest Outpatient Imaging Company in the United States, SVP of Radiologist and Client Services for Franklin & Seidelmann Subspecialty Radiology, CEO of Midtown Imaging LLC, and COO of Integrated Orthopedics, Inc. a first generation public Physician Practice Management Company. He was also appointed to be the Chief Restructuring Officer by the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Florida to handle the successful turn around and subsequent sale of a troubled statewide healthcare company.
Prior to Integrated Orthopedics, Inc., Badertscher served as the President and COO of Pendulum Practice Management Company where he co-founded the second-generation affiliation model which was widely accepted by both physicians and Wall Street as the “model for the future of physician consolidation”.
Mr. Badertscher has held numerous speaking engagements each year before Wall Street interests and national professional groups including “Changes Facing Radiology and Outpatient Diagnostic Center” in 2006 and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Health Care Industry Conference in 1999. He was also recognized as the Florida Businessman of the Year in 1998.
Badertscher has also published numerous articles in the late 1990’s including “Shifting the Balance in Practice Management” in Suncoast Health, “Practices Retain Control with a Nonacquisition Model PPMC,” in Healthcare Financial management Association, and “A Physician Friendly Model” in Capitalizing Medical Groups-Positioning Physicians for the Future.
Mr. Badertscher was educated at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas where he earned a B.A. in psychology and a minor in sociology.
Kerry Leopold is a Senior Director of Technology at Virtual Radiologic, where he is directly responsible for architecting vRad’s Information Technology architecture that supports over 2,500 hospitals and over 8 million radiology exams per year. Mr. Leopold also supports vRad sales initiative by providing engineered workflow solutions, program requirements and project IT implementation.
Prior to joining vRad, Kerry has enjoyed a successful career, spanning over 15 years, in Senior Management positions with industry leading companies. He has emerged as a leader in developing Strategic Information Technology Systems at companies such as WAM-NET Inc., Silicon Graphics Inc., North Central Consulting and Parametric Technology. Kerry’s IT expertise has crossed multiple industries and his knowledge and skill have been utilized by several Fortune 100 companies such as Honeywell, 3M, RCA, General Motors, Ford, and Harley-Davidson, where he has served as a Project Consultant. Kerry also has experience executing government contracts for United Defense, US Army TACOM, and General Service Administration
Kerry received his Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from North Dakota State University, and is working towards his Masters degree in System Engineering at St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Mr. Hallsten was added to the mPlexus management team in early 2013 to serve as its Operating Officer. Prior to that, he served for 13 years as the lead federal employment/business litigation attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. In that capacity, Mr. Hallsten handled the business litigation interests of clients including Cook County Health and Hospital Systems, The Sheriff of Cook County and the Circuit Court of Cook County.
With over 20 years of executive level positions with start-ups, emerging growth and Fortune 100 companies, Tom Vanneman's background includes extensive experience in financial management, strategic planning, investor relations, operations, consulting, and project management.
Prior to his current place at Volatus, Vanneman has held the position of Vice President and CFO for Escient Technologies, a holding company for several Internet and technology companies, where he led several private placements.
He previously served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Software Artistry, Inc., a public software company specializing in help-desk applications. As a result of Vanneman's financial leadership and Software Artistry's solid performance, Tivoli Systems acquired the company. His financial guidance of the organization through this process garnered him the respect of both Wall Street analysts and his peers.
Vanneman previously served as Vice President and Treasurer of Acordia, Inc., an insurance services company. During his tenure, he helped lead the company through a successful initial public offering; led Investors Relations; and oversaw the Company's Best Practices efforts. Prior to Acordia, Vanneman spent eight years with Alexander & Alexander Services, Inc. and was respected as a leader for improving under-performing business units.
A graduate of the University of Iowa, Vanneman earned a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
With greater than 9 years of radiology informatics experience, Jason has built and managed multiple complex information systems and networks for medical facilities.
He was also a founder of Nufinity LLC, a company that provided radiology services for several hospitals in Indiana. Jason constructed the DICOM eXtender and RPE software solutions for mPlexus partly based on his experience managing the imaging infrastructure for Nufinity.
Jason holds several distinctions in the realm of technology, including: MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), RHCT (Red Hat Certified Technician), and A+ Hardware certifications; he has completed DICOM standards workshops.
